About the authors

The oldest of nine children, Jim Wood is a natural coach and mentor. He is a 25-year veteran of the high-tech industry, having held software engineering, information technology management, and business strategy management positions. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Distinction from Boston University. He also holds a master’s degree in Engineering Management from Stanford University.

Lauren Tanny is founder and CEO of The Tannywood Group, Inc., a consulting company focused on sparking company growth through leadership development, work force reinvigoration, and innovative new strategies. In addition to her own company Lauren has run a venture-backed start-up and a business unit of a $200-million publicly traded software company. With an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, she is also a magna cum laude graduate of the third class of women at Dartmouth College.
